Three Precise Folds
The folds or pleats in a surgical mask are meant for it to be “free size” i.e. all masks can be stretched to fit any person’s face – large or small.It’s important to note that the folds in a surgical mask are not meant to catch dust or particulate matter.The mask should not be worn flat. As you wear a mask, the folds must be opened to fit over the face and under the chin. It should cover the nose, mouth, cheeks, and the chin area.The folds or pleats in a mask should face down. An obvious way to identify this is the adjustable nose strip at the top of the mask which bends to fit over the bridge of your nose.Every Hyjiva mask has three precision-folded layers to conform to all face shapes.
Adjustable Nose Strip
Each mask has a long adjustable nose strip at the top.After wearing the mask, the nose strip must be bent to follow the contours of your face. One must ensure that the mask fits snugly over the nose bridge so that there are no open spaces around the mask for the air to pass. This forces all air to be filtered through the mask.All Hyjiva masks use a soft PE coated aluminium nose strip that prevents air leakage while ensuring there are no gashes on the face.
Soft Elastic Ear Loops
The soft elastic ear loops in a Hyjiva mask fit the ear without excessive strain.All Hyjiva masks use a latex-free round Lycra elastic. The elastic cord is 7.5 inch long and have a 1:2 elongation.We use a 10 mm polypropylene edge banding that provides a strong elastic attachment.The elastic is sealed inside for more comfortable and neat packing.
