Just perfect chrome dumbbells, buy this if you hate rubber smell
I was forced to write this review after reading a lot of negative reviews on chrome dumbbells by so called experts, but they lack basic common sense. This review is based on my own experience and experience can differ. Regarding the dumbbells this are the best value for money dumbbells that were available during this Covid-19 period, due to demand and availability every vendor is trying to increase thier price to cash on to the opportunity. This 10kg dumbbells pair was priced at around Rs. 132/kg, total cost Rs. 2643/- for 20kg total weight which is the cheapest on Amazon and even in the local market. The quality of the material is good, dumbbells are coated with chrome finish and they are not like cast iron ones which are manufactured as one piece most of the time. This are manufactured on a lathe machine hence they are made in three parts the handle with grip and thread at the end. The weight at the end have depression with thread to fit the handle, so you need to tighten them after unboxing, use some teflon tape or wrapping plastic around the threads of the handle (refer picture) and it should do the job of preventing it from loosening, but for safety reasons do check if the weight are firmly tightened before workout. For beginners please start with 5kg or lower, the grip provided on top of the handle is foam and not rubber, so it rotates while exercising, one can remove this and replace it with rubber grip (try using a good cricket bat grip, I have tried the Rs. 79/- grip by Domyos for some other pair and it works well) or use it without the foam if you are using gloves. Please use a rubber matting for the floor, as if you drop them it will chip the floor and may also affect the chrome coating. If you like to bang the weights on the floor then buy the hex rubber coated ones by rubx. I don't like staining my clothes with black rubber and I personally don't like the rubber smell that why I prefer the chrome ones. I have owned one pair of 5kg chrome dumbbells for last 13 years which I purchased from a mall in Hyderabad for which I had paid Rs 100/kg and they are still in good condition (slight corrosion over years is normal wear and tear, but it doesn't affect the functionality). The edge of the weights at the end is rounded in case of Aurion which is great, my earlier 5kg pair mentioned above does not have rounded edges . The Aurion dumbbells packing was excellent and there was no damage during transportation. You might observe minor scratches, but it's normal for chrome dumbbells. In the market today the price of cast iron dumbbells in Goa was around Rs.150/kg so this was a great deal. Buy it if you want great product with a tight budget, if you have enough cash then you have loads of options costing 3 or 4 times this price.

    – This is a Steel Dumbbells from Aurion Brand and I am so happy that i choose these Dumbbells instead of that cheap plastic Dumbbells contains that some powder of sand.
    – The one piece of Dumbbell weighs 2Kg so it means you will get 2 dumbbells which weighs 4Kg overall.
    – The Packaging was done superb and it was very well folded with plastics.
    – I have done weight test with electronic weighing machine it was 3.98 Kg. Wow…
    – The rubber quality of handle is great it sticks very well in your hand.
    – Quality of steel is great and very shiny.

This are manufactured on a lathe machine hence they are made in three parts the handle with grip and thread at the end. The weight at the end have depression with thread to fit the handle, so you need to tighten them after unboxing, use some teflon tape or wrapping plastic around the threads of the handle (refer picture) and it should do the job of preventing it from loosening, but for safety reasons do check if the weight are firmly tightened before workout.
    For beginners please start with 5kg or lower, the grip provided on top of the handle is foam and not rubber, so it rotates while exercising, one can remove this and replace it with rubber grip (try using a good cricket bat grip, I have tried the Rs. 79/- grip by Domyos for some other pair and it works well) or use it without the foam if you are using gloves.

    Not recommended for beginners, as 5 kg on one hand feels heavy (unless you are strong) and causes joint pain for 1-2 weeks.

    Doesn't seem like a new product has been dispatched. I saw many scratch marks on the metal surface of the dumbell, which probably could have been caused while shipping, but least likely to be so.

    Slightly expensive for this price, could have been sold at 1500 rs.
