The Night Queen, also known as the Queen of the Night cactus, is a rare, white cactus flower that blooms only at night once a year. It’s native to the deserts of Central and South America and is known for its large, fragrant, funnel-shaped flowers that can grow up to 28 cm long. The flowers have layers of aromatic white petals that release a subtle, intoxicating scent with notes of sweetness and freshly cracked pink pepper. The flowers wilt before dawn, making the Night Queen a rare sight to see in full bloom.
Light The plant prefers partial shade and morning sun, but can tolerate full sun to light shade. If kept indoors, an east window with cool morning sun or a bright but filtered south to west facing window is ideal.
Water Water regularly during the growing season (spring and summer) to prevent the soil from drying out, but allow the soil to fully dry between waterings. In the spring through fall, water once every two weeks, and once every five weeks during winter.
