Just Keep your cast iron vessel clean, neat and dry when not in use. After cooking, wash with a mild soap solution using a soft brush and keep on stove to bone dry, wipe and give it a thin coat of any vegetable oil and store carefully away from water. In about a couple months of regular use, you might not need to coat with oil.
